MegaBitty Micro Line Sensor Board - (Kit)

Dual-sensor line detector sized for MicroSumo robot competitions. this is designed to interface with the MegaBitty controller boards or other robot where space is limited.

  1. Dual-sensor line detector

  2. 1.55" x 0.35" x 0.10" thick (Suitable for MicroSumo size robot competition)

  3. Range of ~1-5mm

  4. Red and green indicator LEDs eases debugging and adds to your robot's aesthetics. (LEDs illuminate over white surfaces)

  5. Each IR photo-detector measures surface reflectivity to distinguish dark and light surfaces

  6. Analog output per sensor reads less than 1V for distances of ~1-5mm from a white surface, and quickly ramps up to ~5V beyond 5mm. Also reads ~5V for a black surface.

  7. Outputs compatible with digital inputs of most microcontrollers and other logic devices. (Use with the MegaBitty's interrupt inputs for quick response to surface color transitions!)

  8. 5V operation

Assembly Instructions

Micro Line Sensor Assembly Instructions

This kit comes complete with well labeled parts. As you can see below, the kit requires assembly of extremely small surface-mount components. Advanced soldering skills and a good soldering equipment required.

Two small infrared photo-reflectors are used to measure surface reflectivity. Analog output reads less than 1V for distances of ~1-5mm from a white surface, and quickly ramps up to ~5V beyond 5mm, or for a black surface. Sensor outputs can be hooked directly to the interrupt input pins of the MegaBitty and other Microcontrollers, or can be used with an ADC. Sized for MicroSumo (50mm cube), but certainly not limited to it. Only 1.55" x 0.35" x 0.10" thick.
